MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) – as most of us are familiar with it – allows individuals to share multimedia content via their mobile phones.
This content can include:
Our MMS Messaging service simply extends this technology to enable you to send MMS from your computer, your desktop, or hosted application on your server.
To the user the multimedia appears much the same as if they had received it as a person-to-person MMS. The only difference is that they first receive a text notification. Having accepted this, the multimedia content is downloaded to the handset*.
As well as making messages come alive, this richer, more exciting content makes bulk MMS a natural choice for marketing and news, especially when integrated with other media.
TeleSign Mobile's MMS Messaging service actually uses SMS technology, even though normal person-to-person MMS does not. We'll explain.
Put simply, when you send an MMS, it's your server which hosts the multimedia content. Your MMS actually goes out as a specially formatted SMS, or 'MMS Notification', containing the URL (Uniform Resource Locator), or internet 'address', of your server. The multimedia content is then downloaded from this onto the mobile user's handset*.
Because it's the same SMS format, it means you're paying SMS prices. And your costs are based on the same easy Price Plans as SMS messaging. In any event, we provide a handy message counter tool, enabling you keep track of exactly how many messages you're sending.
Just like SMS, we can send your MMS messages to anyone, on any network, across the world*. Whatever you're selling, whatever your news, your target audience will find it that much more compelling. This is video, audio and images - right in the palm of their hand.
Sending MMS with TeleSign Mobile is easy. To see just how easy, open a Test Account right now (it'll only take a few seconds). This gives you free credit, so you can log straight in to the Command Centre, and try it out for yourself.
We include an Address Book feature, which can store and retrieve mobile numbers. Along with the option to upload a xls. or csv. file, and send up to 10,000 of contact numbers at once.
You'll also see we provide a Converter Tool to convert any image, sound, video or text file into the .mms format required to send it as an MMS.
Don't forget the API (Application Program Interface) you'll need to send MMS over HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) or MMS over SMPP from a hosted application on your server. (You'll find complete documentation for this on the HTTP/S page in the 'For Developers' section of our website.)
Experience is what counts. Yours, and ours. When you compare prices and customer service, don't forget we make the whole user experience easy.
