April 2011 Periodic Update

RoutoMessaging on MWC 2011

Graffiti artwork RoutoMessaging’s stand on Mobile World Congress 2011

So, how have things been for you? Over the last two months, we've seen many of you sending text messages to subscribers in New Zealand and Japan, checking up on friends and family, after the devastating and tragic earthquakes that have affected those destinations. And despite the recent political situations in Libya and Egypt, we've made every effort to ensure our connections to these countries are secure and available to use. Make sure you keep up to date on destination statuses by following us on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. For those of you who want to test your debating skills, a brand new group has recently opened on LinkedIn, entitled 'The Future of Bulk SMS'. Why not join us, and get your opinions about SMS across?

Still to come this month, everyone (well, almost everyone) is looking forward to the Royal Wedding on 29th April. Any businesses looking to benefit and capitalise from this event should ensure you're interacting and engaging with your customers successfully, through our direct SMS connections for the United Kingdom.

SMS as a critical element of functionality

Welcome to the Spring edition of our Periodic Updates. It has been a couple of months since our last Update, with all our time in February taken up by preparations and exhibiting at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress.

The positive feedback from those of you that visited our stand is much appreciated, despite the recurring nightmares of our vibrant graffiti boards vanishing in the Mediterranean Sea during transit!

March was spent getting the latest members of the Routo Customer Care team up to speed, as customer numbers continue to rise.

Mobile Security Spotlight

We're delighted to have taken on board a new customer this month, who is raising the bar in mobile transaction security. UniVirtua specialises in delivering a level of security for smartphones and tablets that law enforcement agencies around the world are crying out for (007 raise your eye brow).

UniVirtua's flagship product - Majic - is a development and deployment platform genius, that allows the creation and delivery of dynamic, feature-rich Apps to mobile devices. The service is available even in areas with poor signal, and an optimum level of security is maintained by not permitting application logic nor user-generated data (e.g. banking transactions) to remain on the device after use. Should your phone end up in the hands of someone with malicious intent, Majic alleviates any data security fears you may have.

Keep your mobile business secure

UniVirtua utilises SMS as a critical element of it's core functionality. Majic requires secure SMS routing for two key purposes; delivery of core Majic-based smart apps to it's subscribers. and to send alerts to a device to wake the app and notify the user. Even in areas of limited network coverage, the service remains functional, making SMS an essential partner to enhance Majic's technology. The ability to reliably push time-sensitive alerts to users is critical, in the context of fast-paced applications such as share dealing, foreign exchange and sports betting.

UniVirtua folks are currently in the business development stage, and if you would like an introduction or more information, then let us know.
